The Junior Grand Warden for 2011-2012 is Right Worshipful Brother Paul E. Frank.

Paul E. Frank

Paul was born and raised in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Upon graduation from Bridgewater Junior Senior High School Paul attended the Lunenburg Regional Vocational School and received a Diploma in Mechanical Drafting. Paul then went on to attend St. Mary’s University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then attended the Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS) where he received a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture. Paul became a Registered Architect in 1985 and is a Member of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada in 2006.

 

Paul began his architectural career at the firm of Fowler Bauld & Mitchell Ltd. From Fowler Bauld & Mitchell Ltd. Paul went to work for the firm of William Nycum & Associates Ltd. as Vice President until January 2003 when he joined JDA Architects (formerly John K. Dobbs & Associates Inc.) and in 2005 became the senior partner and majority shareholder.

 

Paul is very involved in volunteering for both professional and community organizations. He spent 10 years as an Elder at Fairview United Church and served as Chair of the Church’s Executive Council for 8 years and served as Chair for the Ministry & Personnel Committee from 2006 - 2007.

 

Paul is a Past Potentate of Philae Temple (Shriners of Nova Scotia & PEI) and is an Executive member of the International Past Potentates Association (Cabiri International). He Chaired the Children’s Travel Fund Committee from 1991 - 2006. Paul is currently in his fourth year as Treasurer of Philae Temple. He is a past Director General of the Northeast Shrine Association. Paul is serving his seventh year on the Board of Governors of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal and is currently Vice Chair of the Board.

 

Paul is a member of Keith Lodge # 17 on the Registry of the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia and is a Past Master. He is also a 33rd degree member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Canada and is a Past Commander–in–Chief of the Nova Scotia Sovereign Consistory. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Scottish Rite Learning Centre for Children with Dyslexia Valley of Halifax.

 

Paul chaired a fundraising committee for FEED Nova Scotia from 2004 to 2008 which raised approximately $150,000.00 in cash and collected in excess of 200,000 pounds of canned food. He is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Halifax Regional Municipality and is currently Chair of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia. He is Past President of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects and was the Nova Scotia representative on the Canadian Committee of Architectural Councils from 2004 – 2007. He is also Past Treasurer and Past President of the Design and Construction Institute of Nova Scotia and is also a past member of the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute of Nova Scotia.

 

He is past Chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the Architectural Engineering Technician Program at the Nova Scotia Community College and is currently the Atlantic Regional Director and 2nd Vice President of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Paul is also an active member in Rotary International and served two years as President of The Rotary Club of Halifax. He was recently given a Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Club of Halifax for his contributions to his community.

 

Paul lives in Halifax and has been married for 33 years to his High School sweetheart Linda, Field Unit Superintendent for Mainland Nova Scotia for Parks Canada and they have 2 lovely daughters, Natalie, studying for her Master’s Degree at the University of Newcastle in Northeast England and Valerie, studying Law at Dalhousie University.
