'For the Good of the Craft'2007-01-14
Brothers,

Since the last problem with the Grand Lodge mailing list, some Brothers are still trying to contact Grand Lodge at the mailing list address.

Please note that of you do so, Grand Lodge will not receive the email. Emails to that address are automatically trashed.

There are now no public subscriptions allowed to the mailing list. To get on it you must be a member of our website members' area. That is, only members of our jurisdiction are allowed on the list by default.

Anyone else who wants to join the list must make personal representation to the Grand Secratry at glnsoffice@grandlodgens.org, the correct email for Grand Lodge.

We have made other changes to the website to avoid spam posts to the website:

Commenting on posted articles is no longer allowed.

At some time in the future that ability may be returned, but for now, my personal time commitments prohibit my devoting time to that.

Note also that I am considering removing the Guestbook. No one has posted to it since October 2005. Guestbooks seem to have passed out of common use on the Internet, even though we are getting heavy traffic from around the world. You can click on the image at the very bottom of the home page to see our traffic patterns.

GLNS Interactive is a useful forum for Masons but is being used but sparingly. Since it requires some maintenance, I am considering removing it as well.

The one thing that distinguishes our website from others is the interactivity it allows members of our Jurisdiction. Joining the members' area gives you the ability to ensure that your Lodge and District information is up to date. While there has been a rise in the update of information for some individual Lodges, Districts should try to ensure that District Lodge information is properly maintained. The Grand Lodge Office will not do that. That's why the system was built in the first place.

If you want to present to our own Masonic community the best that you have to offer, it is up to you to do it.

S&F,

Bro. Vic Lewis
