BIOGRAPHY

Most Worshipful Brother
Earl M. Faulkner

Most Worshipful Brother Earl Faulkner was born seventy-one years ago in Nova Scotia, and spent his early childhood in Ostrea Lake and Musquodoboit Harbour.

He left school (1950) and enlisted in the Land Element of the Armed Forces. In 1953 he was honourably discharged. He then decided to try his hand at sailing and he worked as an assistant hydrographer on board ship with the Hydrographic Survey which is now the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (B.I.O.).

In 1953 Earl met his lovely wife Barbara and in 1956 he re-enlisted in the Armed Forces and proudly served his country from Halifax to the Yukon, Northwest Europe, and the Middle East. He retired from the Armed Forces in 1985.

Earl and Barbara are blessed with two children, Christopher and Karen, and four grand-children, Emily, Jenna, Katie and Adam.

Earl started his Masonic career in Black Forest Lodge No. 901 on November 17, 1976 and worked his way through the offices of the Lodge, becoming Master in 1984.

He affiliated with Keith Lodge No. 17 in 1990 and is still active in that Lodge.

In 1995 he was appointed District Grand Director of Ceremonies for Halifax City No.2 District, and appointed Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1996. He was elected as Junior Grand Warden in 1999, Senior Grand Warden in 2000, Deputy Grand Master in 2001 and succeeded to the office of Grand Master in 2002.

He presently holds the commission as Grand Representative to the Grand Lodge of the Philippines.

He has been a member of the Universal Craftsman Council of Engineers since 1998.

Brother Faulkner is an ordinary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4142 and a member of the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association.
